Macabre brings the immersive and terrifying experience of high-end single-player horror a multiplayer audience. Built in Unreal Engine 5 with all the latest tech – Lumen, Nanite and Metasounds to name a few – it delivers AAA quality graphics and sound design so real it’s like you’re there. We’re not sure if that’s exciting, or terrifying.

Horror is always made better with friends. For some, it’s because it helps them feel brave. For others, it gives them someone to scare. Either way, it’s why Macabre supports up to 4 player CO-OP so you won't have to go in alone.
The question is, will you stick together? Or throw your friends to the proverbial wolves?
Macabre is currently being developed by Weforge Studio – an independent game studio based in Sydney, Australia. It was founded by two friends who realised their respective careers in film direction and Interactive audio combined perfectly with their love of video games.
Weforge is currently working with a team of talented artists and programmers from around the globe to bring our passion to life.
The intention is to build the game in phases. And the first phase will be the initial Alpha release. At this point, all of the core mechanics are to be implemented on a single map – The Ecolodge – with fleshed-out monster AI, sound design, location, characters, items and progression.
The success of this release will inform further development including new maps, monsters, and puzzles. By releasing the game in instalments, Weforge can deliver a polished experience that stays true to our vision.

We've been hard at work developing Macabre, and we're excited to release our first gameplay trailer. While it's still very early days, we hope this gives you a taste of what's to come!
High in the mountains, nestled amongst a snow-swept landscape, sits an abandoned eco-retreat. You'll form part of a small research team whose job is to investigate a series of strange events in the area and uncover what's causing them. Along the way, you'll gain access to more equipment, upgrades, and skills that'll prove crucial to navigating and unlocking new locations. As you explore the procedurally generated maps, it quickly becomes apparent that there are far greater forces at play.
